Dunhill Cigars

The company was established by Alfred Dunhill in 1907. He started to open a shop that sells tobacco in London. Dunhill was not manufacturing cigars by that time. Instead, Alfred is an exclusive representative of some of the Cuban cigars before the Cuban revolution. Even when the revolution started, he was able to forge and agreement with the Cuban government as he become one of the distributors of Cuban cigars in the England. He was able to sell some of the most high-end and exclusive Cuban cigars in the market such as the Don Candido, Don Alfredo and La Flor Del Punto. There are also quite a few brands of cigars with the Dunhill name that was released as a few selections of fine cigars.

It was only in 1984 that the first Dunhill Cuban cigars were released to the public. From then on, they dedicated to create their own line of tobaccos, directly from Cuba. Unfortunately, like the Davidoff, Dunhill discontinued their operations in Cuba, eventually selling the brand name to the British American Tobacco Company.

There are different lines of cigars under the name Dunhill. The company doesn’t only release cigars but they also sell cigarettes and pipes.

The Dunhill Cigars was first released in 1984. Compared to other cigar brands, they only have a handful of variations to choose from. However, these variations are more than enough to give the customers what they want from a fine cigar. From the small cigar or Rothschild up to the Gran Corona, people prefer Dunhill cigars as it’s don’t come in too strong or too soft. As the flavor stays in the middle, it gives a well balanced taste that keeps the people from going back to the brand. It’s obviously a high-end cigar that caters not only the cigar enthusiasts but the choosy ones as well.

The company is also successful in launching their own line of cigarettes. The cigarettes were released when the British American Tobacco Company took over. As Dunhill is one of the high-end makers of cigars, their cigarettes don’t go far behind. The cigar could be a little bit pricey but they are worth it. Internationally they have more than 20 varieties catering to each country’s preference. The international versions of the cigars are distributed by the same company that owns the Camel brand of cigarettes. All of these brands could either come in packs with 20, 25 or 30 sticks.

Dunhill’s last line of cigar product is the Dunhill pipes. Alfred Dunhill traditionally sold pipes and even made them as early as 1907. Going with the tradition, Dunhill Pipes are still made until today. It’s most known practice was to place a white dot in each of the pipe. The purpose of this dot is to tell which part of the stem goes up. Until today, this practice is observed. Even Dunhill’s website is named “Whitedot” in honor of the practice. It’s still one of the most sought after pipes in the world today.
