El Rey del Mundo cigars were invented by Emilio Ohmstedt. They are manufactured in Cuba and have Cuban fillers, wrapper and binder.

El Rey del Mundo is one of the premium cigar brands and is produced on the islands of Cuba. It is manufactured by a Cuban state tobacco company.

El Rey del Mundo is believed to be invented by the German businessman Emilio Ohmstedt in the year 1848. this brand which means King of the World in Spanish used to be the most costly and esteemed cigar brand in the world.

Somewhere in 1882, the brand was taken over by Spanish businessman Antonio Allones. Under his ownership the brand raised great heights and soon became the most prestigious brands of the world. In the year 1905, the company of Allones was bought by Diaz Hermanos y Cía venture, which was owned Mr. Cándido Vega Díaz. This company also created other such famous brands as Rafael González, Sancho Panza, and Don Cándido.

The El Rey del Mundo Choix Supreme is a robust sized cigar and measures around 5” with a 48 ring gauge. The Choix Supreme is one of the best looking Habano and has a beautiful reddish, smooth wrapper free of defects. Though they burn a touch on the hot side, nevertheless the ash remains perfect. The most distinguished feature of the cigar is that there is no overpowering aroma around the cigar. You can just notice a slightly floral smell was noticed.

All the cigars of El Rey del Mundo are distinct in taste and smoke a bit differently. Some are very spicy yet earthy with fairly good power. They have a great and full bodied smoke. While others are spicy and have a dark roasted coffee like taste just like a double espresso and have a medium bodied smoke.

Then there are cigars that range somewhere in between the two. Their spice as well as earthiness was pretty light, however the strong roasted coffee taste did manage to come through with a dry finish. All in all we can summarize that the El Rey del Mundo cigars are good, with a decent construction but they are not great enough to be mind-blowing.
