The Mayorga cigars were originally manufactured by Martin and Carlos Mayorga. The cigars are sold worldwide today. The binder and filler is Nicaraguan. The cigars are pretty economically priced give their rich taste. They are handmade cigars.

History

The original Mayorga cigars were manufactured by Martin Mayorga and then made by Nestor Plasencia around 1997 in Nicaragua. The brand of Mayorga cigar was created by Martin and Carlos Mayorga. They were two brothers who started off their cigar production company around ten years ago. Their tobacco growing farms are located inside the town of Esteli, which a short drive towards north of capitol city of Managua. The farm boasts of a team of approximately 60 rollers that are capable of producing approximately 300,000 cigars per month. This means that for a 30-days month, they produce over 165 cigars every day, per person. Today these cigars are distributed by Santa Clara (JR Cigars). But they still are being blended by the omnipresent Plasencia.

The Mayorga cigars are little but solid box-pressed cigars and have a dark chocolate colored wrapper which is from Costa Rica. The filler and binder is Nicaraguan, while the whole package is put together in the town of Esteli. As compared to robusto, they are a little tad smaller in size, but nonetheless every bit as large in terms of flavor.

Flavor

The cigar starts off with a gush of earthy flavor with a sharp edge. The smoke turns quite soft, once it settles. In fact it ends as quite creamy. The flavor profile of the cigar is to some extent woody, with some hint of charcoal. It completely lacks the typical sweetness of maduros. The cigar starts as an explosion and then develops into complex taste. The cigar burns rather well, and even corrects itself if the burn becomes somewhat uneven. It is because of this earthy flavor that these cigars are liked by everyone.

At around 2 USD per cigar, The Mayorga Maduro can be rated as a pretty good cigar and quite economic too. It is perfect as an everyday smoke. These cigars are quite famous amongst chain smokers as well as non smokers are Mayorga brand is a preferred brand by people in many countries.

The taste of the cigar is very dry, a bit earthy and also has a spicy flavor with a touch of coffee, cocoa powder and a flint. These cigars are not your traditionally flavored cigars. These cigars are neither filled with some cheap sticky sauce nor flavored with gel and alcohol nonsense. These are not your regular cheap and machine made leftover tobacco cigars which need heavy flavoring in order to hide their disgusting taste. In fact these cigars are petite and long filler handmade cigars.
